Season 2005/06
22 January 2006:Deeping Rangers U10 3 Wittering U10 5
Wittering repeated last week’s cup success over Rangers as they plundered the league points. Harriers were quick out of the blocks, scoring three goals in five minutes through Charlie Noller (2) and Brad Lynn. Much to Deepings credit they kept playing football and pulled a good goal back just before half time. Wittering began to put more thought into their play and this soon brought goals from Noler and Jack Yule.
12 November 2005 Deeping Rangers Blues v’s Glinton Black. Under 10’s, Zone 3
Deeping showed great resilience to the physical battle encountered in this local derby. The deadlock was broken shortly after half time when Jake Showler beat 2 Glinton players on the wing and crossed for striker Ben Cowles to finish. Glinton rarely found a way through the Deeping defence and the Deeping Keeper was hardly called upon until late in the second half when he dwelled on a long clearance and got caught in possession by Thomas Skinner for the equalizer. Final score 1-1.

15 October 2005: Deeping Rangers Blues v’s Northborough Juniors: Under 10’s, Zone 3
A gritty performance by Deeping saw them rise to the top of the league. The deadlock was broken midway through the first half when Northborough deflected in a Chatham throw. Continued pressure from the midfield trio tested the Northborough defence but it was not until the second half that a Chatham corner increased the lead with another unfortunate deflection. Northborough increased the pressure by pushing more players forward and pulled one back from a goalmouth scramble. Ladley showed great strength and skill with a fine finish during the closing minutes to seal the game for Deeping. Final score 3-1.
Man of the Match for Deeping Blues – Evan Ladley, Team: James Sinclair, James Chatham, Charlie Hick, Evan Ladley, Ben Cowles (captain), Jake Showler, Nathan Brown Sub: Callum McAvoy
8 October 2005: Deeping Rangers Blues v’s Crowland Juniors: Under 10’s, Zone 3
The Nathan Brown show came to Deeping on Saturday with a convincing victory over a hard fighting Crowland team. The first of 4 goals for the captain, Brown, came after 6 minutes. His second was the best of the bunch, a well struck shot from the edge of the box looping over the outstretched keeper. A further 2 goals in the second half came from his sheer persistence and capped off a well deserved man of the match performance. The midfield trio battled for every ball and created numerous chances. The Deeping keeper was rarely called upon and along with the defence, kept control and were worthy of a clean sheet. Final score 4-0.

1 October 2005: Deeping Rangers Blues v’s Holbeach United: Under 10’s, Zone 3
Deeping started strong with Callum McAvoy snatching an early goal. Continued pressure produced another 2 goals from Evan Ladley before half time. Changes at half time allowed Holbeach to shorten the deficit but Deeping remained in control, and a well taken goal from Ben Cowles increased the lead. The Holbeach goalkeeper kept the score line respectable with a string of fine saves and denied Nathan Brown from the penalty spot. Final score 4-1.
Man of the Match for Deeping Blues – James Chatham
Team: James Sinclair, Lewis Royce, James Chatham (captain), Charlie Hick, Evan Ladley, Ben Cowles, Callum McAvoy Sub: Jake Showler, Nathan Brown
17 September 2005; Deeping Rangers Blues v’s Ripingale Rovers Under 10’s: Zone 3
Deeping took control of the game from the outset, Hick and Ladley again showing great strength in defence when required. Just before half time Brown cleared from the halfway line for Showler to float a teasing chip into the box where Cowles finished with a delightful header. Whilst Deeping continued to dominate during the second half, Rippingale stole a late equaliser – final score 1-1.

10 September 2005: Wittering Harriers v’s Deeping Rangers Blues: Under 10’s, Zone 3
The first day of the season turned out to be a soggy encounter with both teams battling the elements. Deeping had better first half possession but went 1 nil down to a well worked Wittering goal. Shortly before half time Deeping broke away down the right wing and Showler was on hand to finish Chatham’s cross. Both teams had chances during the second half but the Deeping defence remained solid – final score of 1-1.

DIVISION UNDER 11
Season 2006/07
17 Sept – Deeping Clarets U10’s 1 Blackstones U10’s 4
A new look Deeping team took the field for their first game of the season and after five minutes scored first through Jordan watson following a Jack Meadows shot which was well saved by the keeper. However, although it was a fairly even game, Deeping found themselves 3 – 1 down at half time, the third after Alec Lamsdale – the stand-in keeper – saved a penalty only to be beaten by Berry following up his shot The second half too saw chances go by for both teams until Healey scored his second of the game to finish Deeping off. Captain Edward Key was solid throughout the game and Jack Stacey impressed with his passing.
17 Sept – Yaxley Juniors U10’s 2 Deeping Blue U10’s 6
Deeping Rangers won their first game of the 2006/07 campaign in convincing style in an entertaining game at Yaxley Juniors. Deeping gave full length debuts to new signings Sam Cowell and Aime Ford and they soon found their rhythm, and it was winger David Stevenette with an attacking run wide on the left who crossed early for Mitchell Hedley to coolly slot home the first goal.A defensive muddle in Yaxley defence providied the second Deeping goal with an unfortunate own goal. Thomas Palmer replaced Cowell due to an early injury and he quickly began to dominate the Deeping defence with some commanding blocks and great tackles. Ford replaced Luke Parsons, and after some great work from skipper Owen Skinner who had a shot saved, it was Ford who was first to slot home the third goal of the match. Deeping started the second half in promising fashion with Jamie Sharpe solid in the middle of midfield, but Yaxley continued to press forward and, after having a shot hit the post, it came as no suprise when the hosts scored their first goal. Another fine individual run by Sharp saw him tackled in the penalty area unfairly and it was Sharpe who coolly slotted home the penalty. Another commanding run out of defence from new signing Cowell saw Mitchell Hedley score his second and Deeping’s fifth. Deeping piled on the pressure and it came as no suprise that man-of-the-match Sharpe knocked home the sixth goal after a strong runby Hedley. Just before full-time some uncertain defending in the Deeping defence saw Yaxley score a consolation goal to make the final score 6 – 2.
Season 2005/06
12 March – Deeping Claret U9’s 8 Boston Junios U9’s 0
Rangers entertained bottom club Boston, expecting a comfortable ride but produced a lack-lustre first half display. Just as it looked like being 0 – 0 at half time, Jordan Smith slipped a neat pass to Jake Brown who rifled in to the roof of the net. Just a minute later, it was 2 – 0 when Brown crossed for Owen Skinner to calmly side foot home. The second half was a totally different story with Deeping hitting the sort of form that has seen them lose only one match all season. The whole team combined with some neat passing football to hit six second half goals. Brown returned Smith’s earlier favour by putting him in to score and Skinner bagged his second before Mitchel Hedley supplied a fine cross for Brown who hit it into the top corner. The roles were then reversed with Hedley slotting home and Dylan Knowling’s quick throw was then picked up by Skinner who crossed perfectly for Brown to score. The finaL goal came when Skinner charged through the defence and poked the ball through the keepers legs. As the keeper tried to regain the ball, Brown was on hand to scramble home for his fourth and Deepings eighth.
22 January: Deeping Rangers Claret U9 4 Glinton Red U9 0
Deeping marched to a convincing victory. Rangers took an early lead when Jake Brown fired home from an angle. The second goal followed from a slick pasing move. Thomas Palmer slipped the ball across to Jordan Snith who cleverly stepped over the ball and Owen Skinner ran onto it and slotted home. A Brown corner was then met by Skinner who netted his second in a fine display. Mitchel Hedley made it four by half time when he hit a left footer into the top corner.
Rangers: Mark Grundy, Thomas Palmer, Jordan Smith, Mitchel Hedley, Owen Skinner, Jake Brown, Dylan Knowling.
22 January: Deeping Rangers Blue U9 0 Glinton Yellow U9 2
With unbeaten Glinton at the top of the table a hard-fought 30 minutes beckoned. Deeping Blue had suffered an 8 – 0 reverse away in this fixture earlier in the season and they started nervously. Glinton wasted a number of chances without testing Deeping keeper Liam Reeve, until a blocked clearance was fired back through a crowded penalty box into the net. Soon after a defensive mix up allowed Glinton to grab a second and the writing was on the wall, but Deeping held on to the break, creating a couple of chances of their own with Luke Parsons and George Veneables both going close while Joe Thompson rattled a post towards the end.
Deeping: Liam Reeve, Jack Stacey, Jamie Sharpe, Joe Thompson, George Venables, Luke Paresons, David Stevenette.Man of the match: Jack Stacey
At the turn of the year the Claret team are 2nd with 22 out of 27 points and the Blue team are 3rd with 22 out of 36 points in their resepective leagues.
